In Consideration of ‘Hot Yoga’ ……

A traditional ‘Hot Yoga’ studio such as developed by Bikram Choudhury is heated to 40 •c (104 •f). I have always found this uncomfortable for my own practice and question the benefits. At my studio a comfortable heat of 28 •c (82.4•f) is maintained to avoid the tightness of cold muscles, while allowing for pranayama and asana to build up internal warmth.
